Since January 2022 the Emergency Services have entered my rented flat in London by force several times. They have been requested to do so by Camden & Islington Mental Health team just literally days after I missed a monthly meeting I’ve been forced to have. I have never been in a state of health close to death or threatened suicide, so believe there is no need for the Mental Health team to act in such an aggressive manner. Yet they do! In the the two years these meeting had been taking place I had always been in good health, both mentally and physically (and dare I say it, better health than the individual whom I would meet with). The police informed me they were concerned I could be in the flat dead, hence forcing entry. To repeatedly force entry time after time is a lame excuse in my opinion and I feel I am being terrorised by these people which has caused me to flee London and live in a tent.
On only one occasion did the police attempt to contact me prior to the entry and that was in January 2022, however I was away at the time and my phone wasn’t charging properly, so I was out-of-contact. All other forced entries, no contact was attempted.
In the summer of 2022 an Ambulance crew and Fireman forced entry while I was sitting at home listening to Spotify on my headphones. I didn’t hear them knocking at the door and again a Dr from the Mental Health team authorised them to force entry. They did an incredible amount of damage to the door, this time removing any locks that were left.
In September 2022 the police came again. I was at home this time and after them telling me if I didnt open the door they would again force entry, I let them in. They had a locksmith with them and he fitted a new Yale lock that day, without asking my permission. I was then sectioned by a team of Mental Health “practitioners ” who stated they were concerned I would deteriorate as I wasn’t taking a medication they’ve been forcing on me. So basically, for no valid medical reason I was taken to a Mental Health prison and locked away and told if I didn’t agree to receiving an injection it would again be forced on me. So I went out for a walk one day, didn’t return and travelled about the UK in a tent.
The door lock fitted on this day has since been damaged after yet another forced entry in October 2022 while I was away from the property.
Each time entry has been forced, more and more damage is done to the door.
Below is the result and the conditions I’m left living in. No locks on the door. A fire safety & security risk.
In January 2022 I had to pay for the services of a locksmith to gain entry and repair the frame and door as best they could. They were at the property most of the day putting the door frame back on as best they could. I’m living in benefits and the £300+ it cost me to gain entry is unaffordable to me.
I purchased deadbolt locks and fitted one myself as the landlord, the local council, whilst sending a repair man to look at the damage quickly, failed to carry out any work and the door is still in this state 7 months later. I attempted to fit a second deadbolt lock to the door, but it is in such a bad state of repair that it won’t fit securely.
I contacted a solicitor to seek advice on if it was possible to claim some of the money back I’ve been forced to spend, as well as seek an order to stop these organisations persuing me in the manner they are and was told I didn’t have much chance. So even though I feel my human rights are being breeched, which they clearly are, a solicitor has advised the law isn’t going to help me. Or rather, I should say the legal system isn’t going to help me. If I had buckets loads of cash I imagine it would!
